Emergency exits

I have a Coachman concord 2013 225LE class C with no Emergency Exist signs or any red latches, being a volunteer fireman in the past, this concerns me, I am looking for direction as what do I need to do to have this corrected as my previous 5th wheel and truck camper both had signage and red latches. Thanks in advance.

I anticipate that, since you have the van-cab doors as well as the house door to exit through, your MH doesn't have any emergency exit windows.

If the sliding window above the bed is big enough that may suffice as an emergency exit. I have a class C with 3 doors and an emergency exit window next to the bed as well. My problem is that, when they installed my awning they placed it a few inches too far forward. So when the awning is closed I can't open the emergency window. When the awning is out it works fine.

We have an E Exit window. Across from the bed.
There is also a counter there with stuff on it.
At 71 (with disabilities)I would not be able to get through the window. Even if there was nothing there. You will find most E Exits are not really that usable, Plus a big drop out the window should you be able to get through it.

I cannot believe any manufacturer wouldn't install an emergency exit in any RV.

Look at the windows in the very rear, especially one on the back of the unit. It will usually be a window that is a fixed unit, one that does not open.

We had a 2007 Forest River Forester it had an E exit window in the bedroom and one in the dinette area, both were sliding windows that also had the E exit latch to remove the window. Hard to believe that their isn't one in the bedroom, thats where you most likely would get trapped.
Makes you wonder if a window wasn't replaced incorrectly with the wrong type at some point.

I believe by code they're mandatory. Have you checked the owner's manual? Also try emailing Coachman direct. Even my fairly barebones model Four Winds has an EExit in the bedroom .
