Extended warranties?

Did you guys by this? Was it worth it? Did you ever claim? Is it good only for a peace of mind?

I didn't buy one on the MH, but had one on my 04 Explorer and never really used it to offset the cost.

Well there are pros and cons. See the previous post for other older links. That said, I did buy an extended warranty, I used it several times while it was in force. I believe I came close to doing a break even, cost of warranty vs repairs paid for by the warranty company. Then I never had any issues with the warranty company not covering repairs. Remember this the cost to do a diagnosis for repairs and a delectable plus any fluids needed during the repairs are all on you.

We usually buy them for the RV. Just last week in one week I just about made up all we spent on an Ext War. with one visit to the dealer. A split galley tank and a bad furnace circuit board, $1700...... Some times it's just easier to pay for the warranty in with your loan then get hit out of the blue with a $1700 bill...
