Good morning I just saw your post wow you are very helpful I appreciate it... .... I'm going to call and get the details on the batteries today I will follow up and let you know but wow didn't even think about something like as you said making it easy to have coffee on the road with the microwave without having to start the generator... I did a lot of research but as they say you don't find a lot of things out till you're in it and on the road definitely that would be good to know ahead of time... I have until February to change anything.... do you have solar panels one other person said they opted not to get them just wondering the pros and cons

I had a 75 Watt panel on my previous coach. On my current rig, as we were not dry camping as much, I only got the solar battery charger and upgraded the batteries. I will send you a PM.

hello, thank you again for bringing to light the possible issue of the batteries.
I did ask the company what Batteries were standard and they said they currently
include 2 6-volt Lifeline AGM batteries as standard. They indicated that they were
"absolutely thrilled with the performance and reliability of these since they made the change from 12 gold in 2016. and that they work great in conjunction with the solar package and also reducing weight. I did follow up to ask them what specific model it was. Still
waiting to hear. From what I read on the web so far the "Lifeline" batteries work
like a charm listening to RV ers. ....I did ask about the larger inverter ... they said the micro is wired through the converter to use either shore power or the generator. they
indicated that the micro has such a high amperage draw that wiring it through the inverter....even
a larger inverter...would quickly discharge the batteries. ....along with mentioning that this is just a safety feature they engineered in to safeguard your batteries.

well...it's an education. would appreciate any feedback. they seem to improve things as they go along. have a good night!

Lifeline AGM batteries are Indeed are great battery. Generally 6 volt batteries are less expensive than 12 volt. The issue here is you probably only have room for 2 6 volt batteries (have to be used in pairs) where you can install 3 12 volt batteries. I think CH is using GPL-4CT which gives you 220 amp-hrs and weigh 66# each. If you to 3 GPL-31XT 12 volt at 125 amp-hrs you would have 375 amp-hrs. They weigh 74# each, so the 6 volt will weigh less, bit don't think that is a big issue for the CH. Of course your intended use will determine how much capacity you need. I was told the same thing about the microwave discharging the batteries. The purpose is not to cook an entire meal, but short term use when on the road. I have not had any problem managing the battery state of charge as the inventor remote monitor shows the voltage. The motor alternator then recharges the batteries while you drive. Hope, I have not confused you more. Some of the mfg decisions are made to protect people who are not diligent about being aware of their MH systems.

Why not use the generator? We have a 261-XL and I use our gen. as often as I need. If you purchase a gasoline coach the gen. uses fuel from your gas tank not the propane. Generators are made to run and benefit from use and conversely will suffer from non-use. We have had 3 MH and have used the generators extensively. Only the diesel units burn propane in their gens.
