Thank you for the tip Stan, nice to see another west texan on the forum. My wifes best friend came to visit us on our last trip and told us about coleman, said they use to go years ago. That may b our next short trip. Want to get a few short trips in to check everything out because we r going to st.george and marysvale utah in aug for 10days of off roading

Fun!!! Get a pool "noodle" and cut for the slide corners. We actually found some prefab corner pieces in the Home Depot plumbing section. Those head bangers hurt! Ours are black, but have seen many folks with florescent noodle colors so they don't forget to remove for travel! Enjoy!!!

Thanks for sharing, hoping that our next three day break in trip in our new class C Thor will be better. Mercedes called and said they have fixed our battery issues. Blanco State park our next stop. Then head to Montana the end of May.

Took my first 3 night RV trip in 1957 when my parents rented a TT for a two week trip to the southwest in the summer. No air conditioning in the car or TT either.

Brian this is a great idea to have a "pre-retirement" trial test. You and your DW will have years to decide if you enjoy the RV life to want to continue it into retirement.
IMO that is a much better approach to retiring and then buying a rig and deciding it is not the life for you. Much better to experiment while you have working man's income vs possibly smaller retirement income.
My DW and I like that Jayco.

My husband clobbered his head on the slide while it was out at home. Split it wide open. While we put pool noodles on the edge of the bedroom slide while camping when at home he put the slide out to work on something and didn't put the pool noodles on it. Im short I can walk under the slide. haha
I keep contact lens disinfectant for rinsing wounds. It has some antibacterial properties and is unlikely to sting. Plus it has a pretty strong stream to wash anything out of a boo boo.
I also keep the real steri strips which I don't care for, and inexpensive butterfly wound closures. I really like the less expensive ones. Either one requires wiping the part its going to get stuck to with alcohol to remove oils from the skin. The problem with steri strips is they don't have a not sticky part and can pull the wound back open. I would post pics of how good it looked but they are icky and they don't have the click to view pics link on this forum.
The wound closures if done properly heal better than stitches on the forehead. Of course if it was bleeding uncontrollably or in a spot that is hard to keep closed we would have gone to get stitches. Tissue glue is another option but I don't like how the edges can turn out on places like the head or face. I can only imagine trying to get to an urgent care without a toad. lol So we try to be prepared.
