Fridge light flashes

Is it normal when comming off shore power and having propane on to have the on and gas light flashing? It says if flashing check gas. My gauge says 3/4 full, im in auto mode. If i turn fridge off and back to auto a couple time then both lights stay on steady. It has allways done this since i bought it in feb. its a 2016 jayco redhawk with 8cu foot fridge

This can occur for a couple of reasons- The burner/orfice may be dirty, or one of two or three parts are faulty and need replacement. My Norcold was having this issue recently. I cleaned the burner and chimney with compressed air (they were not too dirty) and this didn't fix anything. After a lot of research and reviewing all my Norcold literature I decided to buy 3 parts: the burner tube, connecting tube, and the gas valve. After replacing these my fridge is fixed...it lights right away and stays lit with no flashing lights. If you want, you can message me and I'll give you more details. Hope this helps.

The company has a great customer service dept. I spoke to them just last month. They are the authority and can likely diagnose over the phone.

ON light and GAS light flashing in Auto upon loss of AC Power simply means that the fridge swapped to GAS BUT flame failed to light/prove it lit

This is very common when propane system has not be used .
LP Reg has to 'see' demand and then establish flow.
Flow to fridge is slow to respond due to small size of fridge gas orifice/burner needs.

Turning fridge Off then back on allows fridge to controls to attempt lighting main flame off .... sometimes it takes several attempts before propane flow is fully established to fridge gas valve/burner

Turning stove top burners on (ALL--ON HIGH) will help place demand on LP Reg and establish flow.

Craig,

If you're referring to Norcold- I talked to them during my process of troubleshooting my fridge. They won't talk to you as a consumer- only dealers. They cite the dangers of dealing with propane as their reasoning. Maybe you could clarify. Thanks

Fridge light flashes

When comming off shore power this morning the fridge on and gas light came right on no flashing, wife had used stove for coffee right before that. So next time i get the jayco from storeage and get it home before our Aug trip, i will use burners on stove before turning fridge on to auto. Thank you for all your replies
