Fridge temperature

Is there a relationship between the temp in the fridge and the coach? For example we did not open the fridge all day but the temp went from 32 degrees to 41 degrees in 10 hours. The temp in the coach went up to low 80s.

However the freezer went from 11 to 16. Unit is running on shore power and set at "6" - Norcold.

Any ideas if I have a problem?

Its always harder for a gas absorption fridge to cool when the ambient temps get higher. Do you have stack fans for pulling the heat up and away from the coils? Makes a big difference in efficiency.
If the reefer side of the coach is in the sun, it transfers that heat to the fridge.

Right, so it is not so much the temp inside the coach but the temp outside as that is where the heat exchange happens.

Things that affect inside temp on fridge other than thermostat setting.

OUTSIDE temp (Outside the coach) this is where the cooling unit dumps excess heat. The hotter it is out the less heat the cooling unit can dump or the harder it is to dump.

INSIDE (ROOM) temp: The hotter the room, the faster heat enters the cold box

So yes. The temp in the "Room" (Motor home) Will affect the fridge.

We put a little fan in ours to keep the air circulating. It helps to keep the temp consistent. We have found with ours that after the original cool down period we leave it on 8 for the first few days and then turn it down to 6 or 7 and it stays the same temp no matter what the outside temp has been. We have found that keeping the sun off that side of the MH helps too.

Were you driving during the 10hrs, or parked? If parked, how level were you?

We were parked in the 10 hours at home with the levelers down. Over night it's back down to 33 and -5 in the freezer.

I guess I'm still learning and did not known side sun heating / inside coach temp would have such an effect.

the ambient temp and as others have mentioned lots of things will affect the temp of the fridge. We had the same issue a lot last summer (our first full summer with RV) This year I picked up a fan to put in and help circulate the air.
