Thinking of changing to something else besides my new wildcat fth wheel. Have to travel to Lemoore, Ca couple times a year from NY and the big rig is too much for me to handle, and hub won't let me tow that far. Any thoughts on what to go for/ $ of gas to a factor!

We traded our 36' fifth wheel, and truck, for a 31' class C. Many reasons but have found the C much easier to park, get gas, back up, etc. Although the room in the 5th was more we really don't miss it as we only travel a couple of times a year and it is just the two of us and our two small dogs. Gas mileage is about the same so that is not a concern. One thing you will need if you go with a C is the replace the shocks with monroe or bilstein, install a sway bar and front (and maybe rear) stabalizers jacks. Just look them over and get one that you are comfortable with the floor plan.

We just made this move ourselves and things seem to be going well after taking care of a few of the handling issues. I do miss the 5th wheel and truck at times. Seems to be a trade off between space in the 5th wheel and the conveinences of the Class C. Traveling long distances in the C seems to be easier.
