Front receiver hitch and rack for scooter

I have a 2001 31' gulf stream conquest class c. Thinking of getting a front receiver hitch and rack for a 300lb scooter. Haven't seen many of them but reviews say they work fine.

I would like to use a receiver on the rear but there are several known problems with that solution on a class c.

Would like feedback on the use of a front receiver rack.

Thanks!

Get your coach weighed. Do you have an extra 300+ lbs available on the front axle?

Have you talked to any local shops that install receiver hitches? Or are you going to install it yourself.

I always wonder about air flow being blocked by things mounted on the front. Luvlabs brought up a good point about weight.

I've seen hitches on the front of trucks to launch boats.

Let us know what you eventually do.

I have a Curt class 3 hitch mounted on the front of our Ford based class c motorhome. I mounted a Curt spare tire carrier and carry a fully mounted tire/rim. Have never had a problem with overheating (have a ScanGauge so I constantly monitor trans and coolant temp). Running it now for over 30,000 miles.
Hitch is specifically designed for front mount on a Ford E series. Don't believe they make one for a Chevy based frame.
Check etrailer where I got mine. Full specs there.

I carry a 350lb scooter on the back of a 28' Class C. What are the known problems?

I have a hitch on the front as well, I never tried putting the scooter on the front. I do know when I put my bikes on the front I have to remove the seats to not block my view.

I wonder if a scooter would block your view or headlights.

For what it's worth, on my rig, 2012 Forrest River Lexington 283ts, E-450 V-10, my coolant temps run between 195 and 207. Once it hits 207, the electric fan kicks in and temps go down. Have only hit the 207 on very long upgrades . Running flats, even in summer, runs about 195-205 depending on speed, outside heat.
My tranny temps run between 165 and 175, BUT, I replaced the factory tranny cooler with a much more efficant cooler, a Derale 40 row stacked plate cooler, which has about 3 times the btu heat dispersement of the factory cooler.
The spare tire/rim is directly in front of the grill, and has a spare tire cover on it.
The hitch, tire carrier, tire/rim add about 160 lbs to front of the rig, which seemed to help with rear to front weight distrabution.
Also, towing a Subaru XV toad.
