Whats anybodys view point on using a hood bug deflector on a class c , to help move the air up off windshield & towards the overhead.

Seems too me it might do something as it does move the bugs off windshield on a normal P/U or van. What we need to design is something to move that air up higher to give better airdynamic

Any problem with changing air flow as far as handling???

Looks to me that instead of washing bugs off the front of your rig, while standing on the ground, you're going to need a ladder to get up to where the bugs were diverted.

I don't think you'd see one iota of a difference in your handling.

Just my viewpoint you understand.

As far as it affecting gas mileage I would stay with my pat answer.

I agree with Arch. I do not believe you will see any difference in economy by adding a bug deflector. I have a bug deflector and now I own a long handled brush so that I don't have to carry an even heavier stepladder. LOL! A major redesign in the body of the motor home, especially the front, would be in order to allow the rig to glide through the air more easily. Now for the obvious answer, with fuel prices going where they are the best way to hold the fuel gauge from moving is not move the RV and when you do, move it slowly. My feeble attempt at humor....

Years ago a couple of the motorhome manufacturers built class A RV with a very sloped front for economy.

They looked atrocious as far as I'm concerned and that styling soon went the way of all bad styling.

on the question of gas. Last year we didn't take our cross country trip in ours because of the gas prices. Thought about it over this season, we're still paying the "mortgage" on this and it sits in the yard. Going this year whatever the price. better then shoulda, coulda, woulda. maybe see you on the road, travel safe.

I put one on ours because I already had it but I can't tell that it does anything. It certainly does not help with gas. I don't think it bothers the bugs much either, they still splat everywhere.
