Fuel pump.

Anyone have any experience with replacement of a fuel pump in a Minnie Winnie. It is a V10 E450. I parked it after our last trip and went to start it today and it just turned over but would not catch. I sprayed some Quick Start into the air intake and it ran briefly - so it has spark. I believe it is just not getting fuel.

I believe the fuel pump will run for a few seconds when you turn the key to start. Can you hear it running? Also, before a new fuel pump, you should check fuel filter. I'd also directly jump the fuel pump to be sure it's bad and not a wiring or relay problem.

This is good advice. Also If you look under the hood you will see a connection to check the fuel pressure (at least there is one on my 1999 f350). You might also want to turn the ignition key on and off a few times while having someone listen for the fuel pump cycling/running back at the fuel tank. They should be able to hear it cycling when the key is turned on and off slowly. If I remember correctly my gas tank has a drain plug in the bottom of the tank. I hope yours has a drain plug also. Oh, and remember to take safety precautions when dealing with gasoline. This is serious stuff and needs to be handled very carefully, the slightest static electricity spark can cause a major disaster. Please be very careful.

Thank you for responding to my query. It turned out it is the fuel pump which has now been replaced. Thanks again for the advice.
