Don't dare put in E-85

Hope it never comes to the day where E-85 will be forced on us.

Today NE. Ohio $1.79 to $1.89 reg. Diesel still $3.69 to $3.79 ??? why

Wish I could lock in these prices for my future RVing needs.

Diesel is a global commodity and trades on that scale. Gasoline is a regional commodity and trades on that scale. 2 different products in 2 different markets. Prices are not in sync.

What, diesel made with something other than oil? news 2 me. ?

or is it diesel users being held hostage for having enough $$$ to have one. or diesel's greater use in other parts of the globe to move freight.

Likely will not get better mileage unless you change the timing. Premium has more/better octane than regular. Just an ingnition retarder which prevents the fuel from preigniting in a higher compression engine. Best to save your money and buy regular.

Both are refined from crude oil. USA producers do not export crude oil, only the refined products. Global supply/demand for diesel fuel is quite different from that of gasoline. Diesel is nearly identical everywhere, while gasoline is sold in many different formulations even within North America. So, yes, industrial growth in China and India affect the retail price of diesel in the USA. If they affect gasoline prices at all, it is a tiny amount compared to diesel.

Here in S.E. GA (McIntosh CO) I see prices ranging from 1.979 (New Year's Eve 2.17 at that staion now) to around 2.479 a mear 10 miles away, My last fill up was 2.009/gallon, Car took 20 bucks to fill and I had to work a bit to get the last bit in (Was about to burn a gallon so did not worry about overfill).
