Gravity Fresh Water Fill on Winnie Aspect/Cambria

Hello. I just bought a 2012 Cambria 30c, which is the same as an Aspect. I have not been able to find a gravity fill on it. I called Winnie, and the guy didn't really know, but he said to use the winterizing hose to fill it. All of my last 4 RVs had a filler cap. Even if you use a city water fill, you are supposed to open the cap for venting. You know it's full when water comes out. My question is, how do you know when it's full, and is there a vent?

In your wet bay should be a valve to switch the hose inlet from city to tank fill. -- from the Winnebago Aspect owner's manual, pg. 7-1

There is no gravity fill.
Fresh water tank is vented.
When tank gets full it will lover through the vent and on the ground.

Mine does.

My '05 Aspect 26A has both a gravity fill and a valve in the wet bay to switch between city and tank fill. They are on opposite sides of the coach.
I almost never hook up to city water except to top off the water tank. Since I bought the Oxygenics shower head, I usually get better showers off the tank and pump than I do hooked up.
Maybe they discontinued the gravity fill in the newer models?

I have a 2012 Aspect (same model) and there's no gravity fill valve. As rvten said, when the tank is full it 'vents' onto the ground.

I believe that they reintroduced the gravity fill valve in 2013 and on, so we missed out.

That said, the fresh water tank is under the bed (near the back) in our model, and I think it would be pretty easy to add a gravity fill - either directly under the bed or through the 'garage' wall.

I've been thinking of tackling that project, and if I do I'll post pics.

Our FWT is under the bed in rear slide also.
But the slide moves and not the tank.
So a gravity fill hose would have to be flexible and very long.

That's a good point - and it's a pain to have to lift up the mattress to access the tank every time.

A good alternative would be to use a water pump and simply pump fresh water in through the city fill. Any 12V water pump would work, and you can get 12V power from the hitch plug - just wire the extra 7 blade plug they supply using only the 12V and ground wires and start up the RV for power.
