Heading to the Keys

April 27th is the start of our journey to the Florida Keys. I will be hooking up the Toad and it's a 4 day trip. We will be boon-docking at Walmart's all the way until we get to Key West and the Bluewater Keys RV Park.

Have a good time. Wish I was back there. Try Kaya Island Eats near the campground.

This is the trip we want to take next year at about the same time of year. How long will you be staying at Bluewater?

Heading to the Keys

We are staying 7 nights from 1-8 May. I have reserved a waterfront site. We are really looking forward to it. It works out to be $100.00 per night but I'm sure it will be worth it. I will post a thread when we get back.

4 FREE nights down & back at Walmarts, drops that $100 a night to around $47 average.

In March, met some nice folks at Everglades City, they had done the Walmart thing on the way...around Orlando...at 1:30 AM knock on door....guy said open door, I have car problems (they did not) others parked there too, as well as truckers. To cut to the chase, they talked to the person outside that wanted them to open the door. Finally he went away, after much conversation and they went back to bed. Got up in the AM and noticed their bikes were missing on the back of the Toad. Damage was done to the back of the motorhome trying to get the Toad off. Police next morning said they were lucky they did not open the door. Also said not enough officers to police the situation on the East coast areas...lots of similar reports.
Get the freebie stay at Walmart if you wish, my payment for safer harbor at a nice campground is well worth "cheap" and goes along way for safety for me and those with me. Have a safe trip what ever you choose.

My Mossberg persuader would of been answering my door at that hour and I could of never went back to bed without staying outside for a while and watching my equipment and maybe even moving it to a better lit area of the parking lot. Bad stories are just like wine, over time they just get better.
