Hot water heater not working!

Hi-
We have a Coachmen Freelander. We are not getting hot water. The LP green light is on, but does seem to be igniting. We have tried to start the RV and that hasn’t helped either.
Suggestions, please?!

Thanks!

Light ON indicates 'FAULT' in flame ignition OR flame proving

Turn switch OFF...wait 30 seconds ... turn back ON to reset and try lighting LP
BUT have someone outside at water heater to watch/listen burner
Does it SPARK....strong CLICK

Does it attempt to light main flame....?

How long does flame stay lit..?

Could be as simple as propane hasn't established flow to water heater.......first use of season etc
Could be flame proving signal is not getting back to circuit board....dirty sensor/dirty contacts/loos contacts etc
Could be circuit board is bad

But first........
What is the BRAND/MODEL of water heater?
Two main brands but lots of different models. All have similar functions BUT can be different means
SO that info is VERY helpful

I figured it out! I did have to flip the switch a couple of times and it lit! [emoji3]. My DH said to say I am much smarter than he is! [emoji23].

Thanks everyone!

in the future it may help you to light the stove burners first and let them purge the air form the propane lines, especially if its right after having the propane tank topped off.

Take some time to read the user manuals for all of your appliances, they usually include troubleshooting guides. If you don't have them most are available on-line.

Although it does help lighting off stove top burners it is NOT about purging air from system.

IF air got into system....LP would leak out

What it is about is getting the LP Regulator to operate.
When shut down the LP Reg goes into 'lock out' condition

Lighting off stove top burners causes a 'demand' on the system (LP Reg has to respond) and establishes FLOW in the LP System

Stove top burners are easy means of doing that because there are no 'lock out' 3X attempts control schemes like water heater, furnace, fridge have.
Just a manual knob that allows propane to flow and put that demand on regulator.
