If you don't want Alcoa rims (very nice; I happen to have them), you might consider having your rims powder coated. In our area, Les Schwab will do them inexpensively. There are several nice colors, including metallic that you can choose.
I had the steel rims on my dinghy powder coated and they look good.
I used to have the simulators on my last RV and agree it was a pain to check the air in the tires.
