Hydro boost brakes
I have a 1989 Winnebago Warrior on a Chevy chassis. My brakes feel like they are manual. All the fluid levels are fine. Any ideas?

So you have no "power" in your power brakes, right?
How's the power steering?
Hydraulic pump pressures could be down.

Though uncommon, hydroboost units DO go bad.

Is that the unit mounted behind the master cylinder?

Unless they changed in 89, my old 84 coach on the GM chassis had a vacuum brake booster. If there's a vacuum leak or the booster diaphragm is bad then it will require very heavy pressure on the brake pedal. The master cylinder will be mounted on the front of the cylindrical booster unit.

Yes it actually is in front but it bolts directly to the MC. I changed mine out recently. My brakes would stop the rig but it look lots of pedal pressure and I never felt confident.
Took 1/2 day to get it off and less back on. Better braking now with a bit higher pedal. I can skid the tires if need be, before I could not.
Under $200 with fluid.
