Installing Closet rod / rack in class C overhead

Hello All

My Class C has lots of shelf space in the closet but no closet rod to hang clothes. I though about removing some shelf space to make a closet rod to hang clothes... but we like, and use, the shelf space. So.. I am thinking about adding a closet rod in the overhead.. I am not looking for a long rod, perhaps 12-18" would be enough, Just above the passenger seat.
Have any of you seen something like this. and have any suggestions on a solution?
If not I can go to the local home depot and do some hunting.

THanks
-James

Home Depot, Walmart is where I would go.
You might want to consider using pop rivets instead of screws to install the rod ends.
