Is this the new Ford C chassis?

2015 Ford Transit CC-CA Cutaway | See All The Transit CC-CA Cutaway Highlights | Ford.com

Listed is a motorhome version and a 5 cyl Diesel, pretty cool. Maybe confined to B+ class?

I hope so, it'll be nice to have the diesel option.

That's the new one. They are still making the E series for larger rigs so this will most likely go up against the sprinter.

I see they (E series) are still offered as 2014's, but I keep reading the Transit will replace the E's.

Very interesting concept. One has to wonder what the final price will be w/options and the coach makers mark up.

There's a new add on television for American Pickers. I noticed the new truck they're driving looks a lot like the old Sprinter. A little closer look reveals it's the new Ford Transit. The largest GVWR available is only 10,360 lbs. so it'll be limited to the smaller C's like the Sprinter.

NO, Ford has no plans to discontinue the E series. The Transit is a lightweight and does not have the cargo capacity of the E450. I don't know if they will produce as many E350s but the E450 with the V10 will still be produced for larger rigs. At some point they might do a larger econo-boost engine to replace the V10 but for now there have been no plans announced.

"Ford has refuted rumors that the E-Series Econoline vans would be discontinued when the Transit hit the market by confirming that they’ll continue producing the E-Series through the better part of the next decade.
The newspaper, USA Today, originally suggested that Ford would drop the E-Series when the European-designed Transit goes on sale in 2013. Ford however confirmed that they’ll continue manufacturing the cutaway vans and motorhome chassis at their Ohio assembly plant but the Transit will replace the passenger and cargo vans."

I know, the post was a response to a poster that said it could not do what a f450 could,I think it might.

According to the specs the highest GVWR with the DRW is 10,360# at present. What is the DRW rated for overseas ?

I venture that the new Transit cab chassis will be under a few Class C's very soon just like Winnie is already using the new Dodge ProMaster (rebadged Fiat van).

These Class C and B's will be less wide than the US vans of the past...to the tune of about 10" in the DRW Class C.

And do don't be fooled...just like the Crown Victoria police cruiser, Ford is ending the E-Series. Just like said...within the decade. The 2015's are coming soon, so the E-Series will go away in the next 5 years.

BUT...Ford is already ahead of the game, offering the E-350/450 in a stripped chassis:
Ford - Cars, SUVs, Trucks & Crossovers | Ford Vehicles | The Official Site of Ford Vehicles | Ford.com
V8 or V10 on a DRW ladder frame with IFS. It is already under the Thor Axis/Vegas

Ford has moved the Transit van's roll-out because of issues getting the needed infrastucture into the US, but it is here as a 2015 model:
2015 Ford Transit Chassis Cab & Cutaway | Models & Options | Ford.com

Only time will tell when we see the last full sized E-Series Class C.
