I have 2007 Itasca Impulse. Both 30 amp fuses (both related to the converter) blow the second I turn on the house battery switch. The converter as a result does not charge the batteries. Digital meter shows that the load side of both fuses is shorted directly to ground. What is causing the short? The fuses are located near the top of the distribution panel. By the way, where is the converter located -- couldn't find it on the wiring schematics?

If I remember correctly those fuses are for the battery directly. Start with the battery connections and work your way to the converter. Has anyone changed anything at the battery recently?

I will start with the battery and work my way from there. Seems funny that one side of both fuses would be shorted directly to ground but the batteries are good when charged by the engine. Thanks for the suggestion.

I could be way off here but it looks like you have a Parallax (Magnetek) 7300 Series Power Center Converter. If so, then the two 30 amp fuses are reverse polarity protection fuses.
If you do have the Parallax (Magnetek) 7300 Series Power Center Converter:
Here is the Troubleshooting manual: http://www.parallaxpower.com/7300/Flowchart7300.pdf

Here is the installation manual: http://www.parallaxpower.com/7300/73...%20Rev%20B.pdf

Dave -- We are in Heritage Hunt, Gainesville. You probably pass by us every day on the way to work. The info looks like what I need. Rig is parked at Manassas Fairgrounds but I won't have a chance to finish checking out this problem until Saturday. Tim
