Not really. We had a 2006 26A and there was no way to access the back of the TV without removing it. However we had an old Sony tube TV and it did not have an HDMI port. You should make sure that the TV you have actually has an HDMI port first.

In the cabinet to the right of the TV there are the connections to the different antennas and the DVD player. The whole panel appears to be held on by 4 Phillips head screws. I wonder if you removed the panel (make sure there is no power present) if you could access the back of the TV. Mine is a 2008 as well.
