Joe Friday: Just the facts ...

I'm trying to understand the Forest River line. Where does the Forester sit in the line up? Is that like the Premier is to Winnebago? Is the sun seeker a lesser optioned unit?

The Sunseeker is the bottom of the line. I haven't been impressed with any of the Forest River line. The 2 year old Forest River class C I saw was all ready falling apart. I just saw the Solera Mercedes chassis at a rally and the quality and fit and finish was not even close to the Winnebago View. The price was more then the View.

Motorhomes Price, Motorhomes Value & Motorhomes Trade In | NADAguides | Motorhomes Price Specs

This site lists them all, and you can search to find original MSRP for the units you're interested in. That information should allow you to build your line-up.

We have a 2012 Sunseeker 3170, have put 18,000 miles on it, and have found it to be well made. The Forester is an upgraded Sunseeker with upscale finishes. Mechanically they are the same. The Forest River forums, which are second to none, have forums for both Forester and Sunseeker. I suggest you take a look there and look at the RVs themselves before drawing any conclusions. I would not trade our Sunseeker for a Winnebago; others may disagree. If you have kids or grandkids, look at the kids zone in the 3170 and the Forester 3171.
