I just placed an order for the Bigfoot leveling jack system for my Class C. There are some who will say that technically the Lexington 283 is officially called a Class B, (I think because there is no bed over the cab) but it is for all intents and purposes a Class C, so I'm posting this here.

This is far and away the biggest project I have undertaken. I've replaced TVs, added satellite systems, designed my own motirized TV antenna system, installed a tire monitor system, but this is the biggest project yet.

I will be documenting the self installation of this system with pictures and text. Filtered of course, as I realize this is a family forum

because I think this may be of interest to other class C'ers out there.

Just an FYI for my situation regarding CCC. This system is designed for Class C motorhomes. The total weight for the 17"-19" system they said was right for my rig is right around 200 lbs. Since I took about 180 lbs of CRT televisons out and replaced them with flat screens at a total of about 20 lbs for both, I figure the CCC is just about a wash.

$1995.00 plus $135 shipping to Virginia.

That is the manual system. They have an automatic system for somewhere around $1200 more. Sure it would be nice to push a button and have it level itself, but for $1200 difference, I will do the leveling myself. Also, For me personally, I would never consider having something like this installed because I like doing this kind of work. But, we'll see how it goes!

I looked high and low on the internet, couldn't really find any electric aftermarket jacks available anywhere. I did find motors for my scissors jacks, but those were $250 a pair, and didn't do any lifting, just drove the jacks up and down.

I've read nothing but good things about the Big Foots, just wish they would hurry up and get here!

I had Big Foot levels on my 33' class A. Very good system and company support.

When I looked way back I did find a vendor for the atwood electric jacks but the price was way out of line.
Bigfoot jacks are two way hydraulic rams which makes sense. I am getting the hwh system on my new coach but I have no choice in the matter but I do wish they were the bigfoots.

Bigfoot will install there system on MH being built. Right at the building MFG. They just have to know when the MH is ready for them to do there install.

Well I fully intend to post information and pictures to this forum detailing the installation and performance of the jacks.

I have to say right now I'm unimpressed with the customer service from the company. I ordered the jacks early Tuesday morning, and the only thing I know for certain that they have done is charge my credit card.

You can set up an account and log in on their site. They have the appearance of being able to track your order, but since Tuesday morning my order status has been "update" whatever that means. They have a way of contacting them by leaving a message on the site. I did leave a polite message asking for tracking information so I can try to have someone at home when they arrive, and that message has gone totally ignored.

I thought it would be reasonable to expect to have them this weekend so I could get started on the project, as I am leaving for Myrtle Beach next weekend. looks like that's not going to happen, and right now, I have no idea when to expect them.

Business must be good to get away with this kind of customer service.

If I were you I would not rely on email. Give them a call I'm sure they have an 800# that won't cost anything. Sounds like time is of the essence in your situation.

Actually I did call, was put on hold, and it went to voice mail. Didn't see much point in leaving a message. All I'm saying is, if you are going to have order tracking on your web site, you should update it. If you are going to have a form for a message on your web site, someone should read it and respond. I did leave another message with a link to this thread.

If I can't even get someone to give me tracking information (if they have even shipped the order at all) I'm not real confident about getting help if there is a problem.

But hey....maybe it's me.....

Update:

Just received communication this morning that my jacks shipped on Friday, and I should have them tomorrow. I am leaving for vacation on Friday, so I'm relieved to know these things will not be sitting on my porch while I'm gone.

I will be posting my trials and tribulations installing these things myself as promised. Can I get some advise on drilling wholes in my frame to mount these things? Not looking forward to that, thinking of using a step drill bit as I have done before, but am open to any tips or advise.
