Koni vs Blistein shocks

I have read several posts about shocks for a ford E350. Today I got really pushed around by high winds and now thinking the stock ford shocks with 80K are in need of replacement.

Back in my racing days the Koni's were the best for road racing. They were adjustable for stiffness and response.

It seems that the shocks of choice are Koni's or Blistein.

Looking on-line it seems that i can purchase then easily. installation is not a issue but was wondering if the Blistein's are adjustable like the Koni's?

Is it worth the extra money for the Koni's (about $80 more for 4)?

Any advise is greatly appreciated.

Larry

First, i have no idea how you drove it for 80k with the oem shocks. Mine has 34k and just replaced with Bilsteins. I have a '99, 28' E-Superduty V10. Put the heavy duties on all 4 corners and the difference is HUGE! I did a lot of reading on the sites and heard it would be, but didnt think it would make it drive that much better. Just took one trip feeling like I was on the high seas swaying all over the place to change them out. Not sure about the Konis, but you will be glad either way to junk the oem ones.

I bought the motorhome used and looking at the shocks I could not find any identification on them so I assumed that they have not been replaced.

My new Blistiens were delivered Sat.

I cant wait to try them out.

On our Type A MH we have FSD's on the rear and the older style Koni adjustable's on the front. Koni was supposed to have FSD's for our front some three years ago but so far they haven't gotten them out. Bilstein does have their new Comfortrac for our axle and I may just try them. They're about $100 each, plus Reyco Granning (front axle manufacturer) recommends them over the Koni's. I can't really say that the FSD's on the rear made a noticeable difference but it's quite a ways back of the drivers seat.
