LED vs Incandescent

Here is what I know, they are trying to outlaw incandescent light bulbs and they do draw considerably more current than their LED counterparts. The LED cost a good deal more than the incandescent. I have been toying with the idea of upgrading my exterior marker lights with LED lights because they will outlast the vehicle. The question I have is does anyone know of an LED that you can put inside the coach that gives a soft glow instead of the harsh white one that most LEDís give off? I do not want to rewire my coach I would like to keep the lights at 12V.

That is where the color temperature comes in. You will have to look to see if LEDs you find come in the color (temperature) you want. Regular incadescent is about 2600, warm white 2800, halogen 3000, cool white 4100. Metal halide/daylight 4900.

These are very pricy but they give off the best light that I have found. I tried many cheaper brands but wasn't satisfied with the brightness or the harsh white color. Revolution 1141- 200 LED - Interior/ Porch LED lighting - Star Lights, Inc. I had 2 that burned out and the company replaced them, no questions asked.

I purchased six of these off of Ebay as a "test" - very satisfied - has very similar color as original 1156 bulb with just slightly less illumination. Price was also excellent.

Not sure if it's a wise investment for an RV.. buy, your mileage may very. Cheaper to replace a bunch of bulbs I'd guess. I have CFL's in my house and would consider them for the 120 lights in the RV.. but not upgrading to LED's quite yet in the RV..

Ok guys, help me out here please. I need to replace several interior light bulbs because the bratty monkey I live with learned how to remove the cover and steal the very interesting funny glass thingys inside. They don't hold up well to being used as toys.

Now that I have figured out how to secure the covers, I'd like to put in LEDs in due to the difficulty of replacing them and to save the heat that the incandescents produce.

The current bulbs are 921 wedge type. What LED will be close to the same light -- quantity and quality?

I agree, they are pricey but a very nice upgrade, and look killer too!

I got these from ebay and they work great in my 1991 Fleetwood Jamboree Searcher. Warm yellow color. Note that's 10 for $39.99 free shipping.
