I bought a pair of Duracell GC2 golf cart batteries from Sam's and they seem to be fine. Thanks for all your help.

Were it me I would be looking for an American made AGM (leaves out Optima now made in Mexico). That lives you with Concord/Lifeline or a battery by East Penn There is a list of battery manufacturers who are rebranded Car and Deep Cycle Battery FAQ, Battery Manufacturers and Brand Names List, and
