If its a Frigidaire there is a recall also. Can cause fires.

Will it still work if I leave out the spinning,hopping and chanting because the rest of the ritual I can get behind. With enough of this you wont care if it works!

You might want to post the brand instead of just microwave. Someone with the same model may have experienced the same problem and know exactly what it was.
