Minnie Winnie ..... Ipod connection

We have a new 2015 Minnie & would like to have a connection for Ipod. We understand that a USB cord must be run from back of radio/nav unit thru the console. Anyone know if the back is accessible after the doghouse cover is removed? Basically, need to know if this is a DIY job or for service center. Any thoughts appreciated. First trip coming up soon!

You may have to pull the radio/nav unit out of the dash to get to the back and connect the USB cord.

On my 2005 Aspect, which is based on the E450 Chassis, removing the doghouse gave me access to the back of the stereo. I installed a 3.5mm input jack in the dash which is hooked up to the AUX connection on the back of the radio. The input jack I bought off eBay. I think the jack had a connection to the two RCA plugs for the AUX connection. It's been a few years so difficult to remember.
So I just plug a cable from the earphone jack of the device into the dash. Works great.

I use one of those old cassette player adapters. Ancient tech, I know. But it works.

pulling the radio out is in my opinion is easier than removing the dog house.
