We have been looking at a lot of used Class C units. We want to spend in the $20K to $30K range on our first class C. I have found a 2003 Minnie Winnie 24V on a Ford E350 chassis. a previous Ford I drove in a Georgie Boy wandered quite a bit on the road and was nearly impossible to get into the driver's seat for me from the back. I have heard that Winnebago has their own console up front which improves this somewhat. Also, how is the 350 to drive? I think the other was a 450. I figure I can add Bilstein shocks fairly reasonably to improve the ride. I have heard that Chevy rides a little better but I have not driven one yet. It is hard to find a good used Chevy. Seems most I find are on the Ford chassis.

Any help or suggestions is appreciated. I think the Winnebago is a nice unit. This one is low miles and only 3 years old. Thanks.

GCP; Last Nov. we downsized from a 36ft class A to a 24 Winnie Minnie on Ford E450 chassis with one slideout. It is an 03. We put 4 months in it traveling and I pulled our boat up from Florida. We will be leaving next week and be gone a month and half in it....Central Pa. Mnts. for some bass fishing and fall leaves.
This Winnie is a gem....My DW and I love it.
I can take my hands off the steering wheel and it tracks great.....I don't even know the boat or the Jeep Cherokee are being towed....
I am partial to the Ford V-10 ( I did have the chev Vortec 8.1 for 3 years, but am happy to be back with the v-10. I'm not quite 200lbs and just shy of 6ft. and I have no problem jumping in and out of drivers seat from coach.
You might get an idea or two from checking out AnsleyRV.com....look at the used inventory. They have a, I think three C's for sale....We've bought two MHs including this one from them....They are the best for sales and service....Although they are in Central Pa., quite aways from you... Good Luck on your search. We did it last year and you will know when you look at the right one for you....
Bill

My recently replaced Class C, my 2004 Four Winds Chateau 31Z was the best Class C I ever owned (I've had six, all purchased new).

It uses the Ford V-10 engine, had the best mpg and handling of all I've owned.

It is up for sale on IRV2.com classifieds, check it out.

I own a 1994 24' Minnie Winnie on a Ford 350 and couldn't be happier. The gas mileage could be better but the ride is fine.
