This is for my father, 04 minnie and the battery under hood keeps draining till there is nothing left! They don't run it every 2 weeks, they get out about once a month for a good 4hr ride for camping. Is this normal or is something wrong here? Ford V10

It could be the radio is in the chassis position, there is enough drain there to run the chassis battery down in several weeks, especially if it inadvertently is left on. If not that, check that the steps are not either being used often or pulling a large drain - they are on the chassis battery as well.

On our '03 Minnie, we had problems with both draining the battery in several weeks time.

Good luck

Chris

I am a bit late on this thread but I hope you catch my reply. The problem is most definitely the radio but it isn't wired incorrectly it is that the radio is incorrect for motorhome wiring. I posted a thread on the problem when I tracked the same issue down on my wife's MH. The thread is here Phantom Battery Leakage. I have perfected the diode fix and will gladly share it with anyone that wants to correct the problem. Your father's solution can be as easy as switching off the coach battery whenever the MH is in storage.

Just had that problem on my '99 Jambo. For whatever reason the electric heated mirrors are not wired thru the ignition switch, but "hot wired". I forgot to turn the heaters off.
Hope this helps.
