Need Advice re. External Light Control Module on C Class

I have a 30ft Travelaire C Class on a Ford 350 chassis. I have all of a sudden had some weird problems with my rear lights only. Weird things like the left brake light works when the left indicator is on, then vica versa for the right. However, No indicator, then No brake light.

I have checked all the fuses and bulbs, I have cleaned the ground, and all is good. So, I am slowly coming to the idea that there must be a controller somewhere which manages what lights come on when.

Question: what is the name of this controller. Are they all the same? What kind of store could I buy one? Am I likely to be correct?
