I'm new to the RV world and am actually looking at a 1999 Coachmen Catalina to get started. It only has 38,500 miles, V-10, no slide, 25'. Should I be concerned about the age? Its from a dealer, but the previous owner must not have used it much. I thought the price was high at $21,900. Thanks!

Check the age of the tires. It's on the side of the tire. Anything older than 6 or 7 years needs to be replaced.

Welcome to IRV2, a wonderful site where you will learn a lot of good information. Your choice sounds good for the year, because you have found something you like, so important since you are going in on the ground floor without a large investment. I know slides are a big seller today, and as you can see, our motorhome has none either, because we found a used low mileage, one owner motorhome that we were looking for that was in our price range. Five years later we are still very satisfied. Good luck, happy trails and travel safe.

re price. NADA is a good source for relevant vehicle values. Around here, (Indiana) used RVs resale is at the lower end/under of the NADA scale.

re condition/age. I would thoroughly check the model and generation of the V-10 and then check the internet for blogs and issues. Some models had major issues over time..stuff like spitting plugs out under load. Expensive fixes. I would also check for recalls of that model and verify the work needed was done.
Same with the trany.
Does it have an onboard genset? Check its hour meter. There is much info on this site concerning the proper care and useage of gensets and counter intuitively, a lightly used genset is not necessarily a good thing.
