First congratulations on the new unit. Can not answer on how long generator will operate. You can leave the propane while traveling as the refrigerator operates with propane on the road. When you apply shore power, the fridge will convert to electric. When home if plugged into electric you can turn off propane. I usually plug in when home to get refrigerator to chill for a day before taking a trip. If not using the electric for anything else...you can use an appropriate size extension to operate the refrigerator in your driveway. Hope this helps.
