Hello! I have a few questions about a Class C that was recently given to me, its a "Open Road" brand built on a 1971 C30 Chevrolet van chassis, this RV runs great, but need some small work, mostly just updating the interior, because it is fairly spartan and is like stepping into a time capsule, and just routine maintenance that comes with a vehicle that has been sitting for 13 years, (it hasn't been used since 1998) I was just curious to the Manufacturer, they are not one that I am familiar with. I would also like to know if there is a manual to this RV available. Thanks in Advance

TNFiddler - I would post this in the Vintage RV section- lots of good folks there that might be more familiar with the Open Road brand. And pictures of classic rigs are ALWAYS appreciated!

TNFiddler...Hi and Welcome!

Wow like a blast from the past...I haven't heard of Open Road in a long time! My first Class A was an Open Road, can't remember the year now but it was around the age of your Class C. Mine was 22' and on a Fargo frame. Anyhow Open Road was manufactured by Open Road Industries in El Segundo, CA. Haven't heard of them in years, don't know if they were bought out, or went out of business.

You could contact the RV Hall of Fame Museum, they likely could give you more information about the company. RV/MH Hall of Fame - Museum - Library - Conference Center

Also here is a fun add for a 1975 Open Road class C Field & Stream - Google Books

Have fun fixing and camping in your new rig.

Jimmy
