NO Start condition: 1 T992 Ford E350 460 Cubic

This is a dually cutaway chassis with a Champion Chase Commander RV body. Hoping for some help. For the second time now, I am getting a no-start condition when the vehicle sits in high humidity. The first time it happened I removed the ignition control module and had it tested. Auto Zone checked it OK after cycling it several times to make sure it was getting warmed up. This module was mounted out on the finder well and on a large heat sync.
I purchased a spark tester to determine if the spark was working, but before I could go further the weather cleared up and the vehicle started with no problem. The intermittent issues are very difficult to fix.
One thing I noticed on the first failure and today, is that as I release the ignition key back to run position, the vehicle momentarily tries to fire. It is as though the run terminal has a problem relative to the start position in the lock mechanism. Does anyone have a diagram on how to get to the ignition electrical switch?

If anyone has experienced this problem and a solution, I certainly would like to know where to begin with a fix. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

solved?

ProfessorBob, did you get the no start issue resolved? I just ran across it, and I had a similar issue. FWIW, mine would sometimes stutter and stall in stop and go traffic, and would require a lot of key jiggling to make it work. It would sometimes hook up when I released the key slowly from the start position. I replaced the starter solenoid, because its a Ford. But I suspected the ignition switch module beneath the steering column based on what I experienced. My '92 had a lot of moisture inside and under the dash the aluminum casting was full of blooming corrosion. So moisture. Anyway, replacing these two items fixed it so far!

Ford cutaway 460 no start reply

Thanks for offering additional information on trouble shooting my no start condition. The starter seems to be OK, but I will take the leads loose and clean them. Do you know how to access the electrical switch in the steering column, or can you offer a web address that will address the issue. Thanks again for you help.

The ignition switch is easy to access in my '92. Remove the lower shroud around the steering column. The switch is in view, at the end of the wire loom. It is held in place by two torx head bolts, I don't recall what size. The Haynes manual shows its removal. Good luck !

I had a devil of a time locating a switch. There are a few to be found in the country. My Ford parts gal got one from out east. The sites I tried seemed to have the part, but actually didn't. BTW, everyone was trying to get me a part for an F350. They had a hard time realizing these are different animals.
