Question Oil Pressure

I have a 78 Itasca.The oil pressure dash gauge has suddenly stopped registering,I am afraid to drive it for fear of damaging engine,what do you think?,bad sensor at oil pan..bad oil pump? Any ideas as to where I should start trouble shooting..I am new to this site!

Hi and welcome to the forum.

I'd bet that it's just a bad connection or sending unit. If you really had zero oil pressure you'd know very quickly after starting the engine I would think. Having said that, it needs to be fixed whatever it is.

Pressure

Hello there Rick,
You are thinking what I was thinking and I will go ahead and replace the sensor as a starting point. I did actually start the rig and move it quickly to a different spot and detected nothing new in engine noise or power.This is probably just an aged sensor gone bad..I mean she is 34 years old,but I want to be sure!
