Hey everybody.
Wondering if it's OK to leave the hydraulic jacks down all winter. Or is it better to put them in storage (up) position. I'm not really worried about the rig being level since the fridge will be off.

Did it for the 13 years we had the '02 Dutch Star with no problems. They were HWH units and I had never lubed the rams nor changed the springs either.

A lot depends on where winter is. I w would not keep them down, no rusting in the up/stored position.

I'm in Minnesota. They are HWH jacks.

If being level isn't necessary, what is to be gained by putting them down? The cylinders are protected in up position.

I would keep them up and exercise them at least once during the winter. Mechanical things like to be operated.

I just made a visit to the HWH factory in Moscow, Ia to have my jack system repaired. They are great and pricing is very reasonable. Also provide free electric hook up while there.
The fellow who repaired mine said not to leave them down for vehicle storage. He also said to cycle them up and down every 30 days when stored.
