We traveled our first 3 years of RVing in a 22' Class C WITHOUT a towed car. We visited most of the states east of the Mississippi and went all the way up to Nova Scotia and PEI.
We parked right ON Constitution Ave in DC, next to "The Wall" and 2 blocks from the Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell in Philly. We found that parking our 22 footer was rarely a problem.
We now tow a Miata (with a bigger Class C) and have been to Memphis several times and have found that we still would not have had a problem getting around and parking our 22 footer in Memphis.
Memphis has an old trolley system that runs north & south along the river and will take you nearly anywhere you want to go. A fun ride and well worth it. It won't take you to Graceland, but that is easy to find too. We spent a night at the Graceland RV park which is within walking distance of Elvis.
Now, when we travel to or thru Memphis, we stay at the Tom Sawyer RV park in West Memphis, which is actually in Illinois (google it). Tom S is INSIDE the levee on the Mississippi river. Our favorite spot is at the far north and about 50' from the water.
We sleep with river barge convoys going up and down river all night long.
Truly a neet and enchanting place. Nothing else like it.
