Peeling cabinets in minnie winnie

We have a 1995 Minnie Winnie and the cabinet doors are peeling. We need suggestions on repair. The cabinets are not wood--they're a faux-finish oak-colored lightweight material. They can't be painted or sanded or anything like that. It's like contact paper that's coming off from the AZ heat. We also have a strip that runs around the edge of the overhead area that is curling up. Any help/ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Most cabinets are made with a veneer covering - sounds like the adhesive has come loose. I am not a woodworking guy and if this happened to me I would find a local woodworking outfit like Rockler and ask them for advise - you might be able to re-glue the veneer or you may have to remove it and replace it with a new sheet of veneer.

Re attaching the surface finish is next to impossible. You may have to replace them.

This guy in Bullhead City will come out and give you ca free estimate on fixing your problem.

Have the same issue on a '97 Gulfstream. Was going to replace all the cabinet doors with pine (helps to have a table saw, router, etc.) and stain, but we decided to brighten up the interior and paint the cabinet doors and frames white. It's a bit labor intensive, but ended up scraping off the loose veneer (doors are a wood product called MDF) with a wood chisel, sanding the exposed MDF and veneer that was still well attached to a smooth finish (100 grit sand paper). Used a white primer designed to adhere to plastic surfaces and wood, then painted over with a semi-gloss. So far happy with the results, but it is a bit of work.
