Picking up our new Odyssey 24B

Finally made the decision to deal with LaMesa in Port St Lucie in Florida. Only problem was all of La mesa stock of 24B's have Auto jacks which I did not need. Anyways negotiated a price that was close to other 24B's without the
jacks at other dealers.
Picking it up Friday I hope but went to look at it today. Found graphics on the slide side damaged, refridge door latch broke, safety escape window latch broke, overspray black paint outside on the passenger door, and a few nicks in the paint. Amazing what gets by them at the factory and what they don't correct at the dealer went the unit arrives.
I will post how well LaMesa handles the repairs.

Based on my experience with Camping World when we purchased our Holiday Rambler, the dealer basically does nothing prior to sale. A part of it is that they wait to see how picky the purchaser is, the other part, as I understand it, is that they often have difficulty getting reimbursed by the manufacturer for fixing manufacturing defects.

Congrats on the new rig. HOWEVER I would not pay for or take delivery until ALL repairs were done. If they promise they will take care of it after the sale then you are in for months of headache.

picking up new RV

i think you are all right. I have been educated over and over how well service is done on RV's.
The things I pointed out are fairly minor but I am glad we pointed them out, if not, they would have never fixed them.
The last one we went to purchase at the last minute my wife noticed rust like spots in the vinyl floor. They had 5 people working trying to get the spots up with no luck. They finally wanted to replace the floor under warranty, which it needed, but we passed on the purchase. So now we are very careful.
We will see how well La Mesa does and post the results.

Thanks to all
Jim

Wow. We are up in CT and have just recently been shopping for an Entegra Odyssey 24B and spotted 3 in La Mesa in FL. Two just disappeared from the 3 we were watching. Possibly one of those is your unit? We are heading to RV show in Hartford, CT and hoping to finally see an Entegra in person that a dealer from Albany, NY is bringing down. We have been looking at a Jayco Melbourne 24L as well. Hope to make a decision soon. Comments on this forum have been super helpful. This will be our first RV purchase so we are soaking up as much information as possible. Good luck with your purchase and thanks for sharing your wisdom.
