Portable Propane heater
Hello all. This will be my first winter as a full timer. I live in the north east. I I'm still working so can't go south for the cool weather. I have a class c with a good furnace. I'm looking for a small heater to help out. I looked at the big buddy & the 6 wave. Anyone have a opinion on what works good. Thanks⛄️❄️

Before I'd use a propane heater in an enclosed RV, I'd run a separate heavy 20AMP extension cord out to the pole and use the 15AMP plug and run an electric heater on this separate dedicated power source. I'd be to worried about Carbon Monoxide in the RV.

Plus the increased risk of knocking it over and starting a fire in the cramped space of an RV.

I have the Big Buddy heater for my garage and back up heat for the house if the power goes out.. have the 12 ft hose to a 7 gallon tank.. for the rv I have a "milkhouse" style heater for extra heat.. I think the rv is too confined to use big buddy type heater.. you might wake up dead

I agree, carbon monoxide poisoning would be my biggest concern. If you read the warning on any gas grill they will say never to use indoors due to carbon monoxide. The inside of a MH is smaller then a home so the problem would occur even faster. Plus being odorless you wouldn't even know something was wrong. You'd just collapse.
Propane heaters in a MH....Bad idea!!!

I don't have access to electric and the propane heaters when tipped over has automatic shut off

Everybody saying that they do not trust a propane heater because of carbon monoxide . Well I'm sure you're rv as well as my motorhome furnace runs off propane . Most motorhomes are equipped with a carbon monoxide detector

The difference is my furnace inlet and exhaust flue run to the outside, a portable gas heater inside..........

A lot of people do. The Buddy heaters are supposed to be okay to use indoors, though most crack a window or roof vent anyway. I've never tried it personally but I've seen threads like this erupt into flame wars over the topic.
This one might be similar - I might go grab some popcorn ....

I have used a buddy heater in the past in our Motor Home, I always crack a window and a roof vent just to be safe. I only do it though when we boondock and we don't have shore power to run an electric heater on.
As for knocking it over, if you even look at ours real hard it will kick off automatically.
