Shouldn't matter that it's an E series. Don't get Edge, it's junk. The gauges are nice, but not the tunes.
Something from Tony Wildman at Total Diesel Performance, Power Hungry Performance, DP Tuner, Innovative Diesel, Swamp's, and guys like that are the best. Banks, Bully Dog, Edge are far from it.

I'm guessing you have an E4OD or 4R100 trans. I would get a valve body to help firm shifts and keep heat down, and then get some gauge/monitor system, especially if you're going to tune it.

One of the issues with "tuning" an E van is that 7.3L is not intercooled like in the F series. The van engines are detuned from the factory compared to the F series and with no intercooler any extra boost will increase heat by quite a bit.

yes thanks for the replies . It is the 4r100 and am thinking about just filters and exhaust, to start with .Putting deep trans pan on with a gauge to keep an eye on things. If we go with chip will go with full blown gauge pkg but leaving stock settings I'm thinking egt's shouldn't be problem. Good thought on the shift pkg , so am thinking bm valve body to do just that
