Problems with rear running lights?

Two of my rear running lights on my 1991 Tioga do not work. I have cleaned connections on all lights, I do not get voltage to the two lights. They are not on the end of the string. Are these wired from the chassis then run up to the lights? Is there anyway to access the wiring without tearing out the interior?

What are you calling running lights?
Tail lights?
Clearance Lights?

I am assuming you mean the 5 clearance/marker lights across the top. Some lights have 2 wires going to them but others only have one and rely on grounding the light fitting to provide the 2nd connection. You probably need to remove the lights and check the ground connection.

Most clearance lights I've seen have incredibly cheap connecting hardware inside them, basically the wires pinched in a slit in some thin metal.

I believe the lights are run in series. Either the ground wires were run in series across the cap - one to the next - simply connected to each light by the rivet holding the light to the cap or on my old RV, the lights were grounded to the metal skin of the unit.

I suppose it depends on how many wires you have going to each light?
