Our local CO-OP has a fill station as do most. Fair prices too.

We normally don't worry about price, I need propane, I need propane. Most of the above, lots of over night parks on the road or fuel stations and many parks we stay for a week have moble trucks, just put a sign in the window or inform office.

We were in Missoula Mt last summer, and we stumbled on a deal on propane-99 cents/gallon, on tuesdays, deal was at a large RV dealer. When we showed up there was quite a bit of activity by the propane tank.

We paid $1.99 in Quartzsite, AZ, $3.99 in Page, AZ and $2.19 in Hurricane, UT -- all within the last 3 months. Prices seem to be whatever the market will bear. I know I'll make sure I have a full tank before going to Page again.

I added a Stay-A-While to my propane system and have a 20# tank that in a pinch I can just do a swap out. Camco also makes a similar product --

Tractor Supply, easy in / out plus great prices. They will fill small tanks and large tanks, you just pay by the gallon.

A lot of camp grounds we have been to have propane fill ups. Call ahead when you start to get low and see if the next place you're staying at has it.

At the campground we just left (snowbird, there for two months) a local propane truck comes through every Thursday and fills while you are on your site if you call them ahead of time or catch them. We have plenty of choices when travelling northeast of Cadillac MI, there are four different propane suppliers in about a mile on M-115.

Some campgrounds have made arrangements to have a company send a truck once or twice a week to serve campers.

Found a campground that has propane available for sale. Archway RV Park in Mount Vernon, IL. It's right off I-64 and has pretty decent pull through sites as well

So far, that's what we've done as well. If we stop at a camp ground with convenient propane and we're under a half tank we'll just top it off. It may cost a few bucks more, but for the convenience, we'll take it.

We were in Moab and needed propane. Only place to get it at that time, 2013, was at a campground.
In Canada lots of people still use auto propane to run instead of gas, so quite a few gas stations still have propane filling service.
