Stiff neck television mount, whatever that means, is not a reason not to purchase a motor home.

When they mount the TV in the front overhead so anyone who sits on the couch to watch has to tilt their head back the result is that the viewer gets a stiff neck after some time. That is sufficient reason not to buy a given unit. One may make the mistake on the first one but it rather foolish doing it twice. It is also one of the issues more often warned about. Even the hard core fixers run into a problem if they decide to try to relocate it because of the buried wiring.

In the age of slides and flat panels the second gotcha is putting the TV dead center up top in front on an A or B then putting the couch in a slide so that the person nearest the front cannot see the TV because of the slide wall. That is somewhat fixable by moving the TV to the end of the front overhead away from the couch slide. It costs symmetry but works.

There is the basic issue of everyone being free to reject any unit for any reason they see fit to. It matters to them and they write the check. Granted, some seem silly to any of us but all of us who have done much have our lists of will not accept and do not like in terms of common build practices.. If you sit around a campfire discussion over peeves you might be surprised both by the length and contents of what "little things" matter to people.

I want to second the Born Free. Ours is a 2002 and has excellent quality. If you can a newer one with slides all the better. Ours has no slides but for 2 people and a dog it works great.

We own a Laze Daze, 26.5 mid bath which gives you options of how you want your bed. We do use it as 2 twin beds, it can also be used as a king if you want or a double, giving you one sofa to use. We had a 22' a long time ago but just got to hard to climb on top to go to bed. Love this model, check them out, the workmanship is beyond a lot of others out there. If you can find a good used one you will love it. We sold our 40' Holiday Rambler and went back to this smaller unit so we could get into a lot of places we couldn't with a larger one. A Lazy Daze was our first choice for months, but we could never find one close buy for reasonable money, so when our neighbor was selling their Born Free we jumped on it. I modified it to have 2 flexsteel sofas instead of one, so we have the option to sleep in the overhead, or use one or both fold out sofas. Works great for 2 people and a dog, but could be tight for 3 or 4 for sleeping. It does work excellent for our needs and we can't wait to hit the road again this Spring. We would have been happy with the Lazy Daze as well if we would have found one we liked.

Please consider the Jayco. In our 26xd, I can sit on the couch, the dinette, and the toilet, adjust the tv at any angle and not get a stiff neck.

Look at the size of the Refridge, the output of the furnace and the AC.

Check out the warranty.

Do not assume someone with thousands of posts are experts at answering question about class c motorhomes.

When you write the check, fall in love with your purchase.

We own a 2006 Jayco Greyhawk 31SS. I have been happy with it on numerous trips. The area above the cab is open (no tv, etc.) and contains a queen size bed with a ladder (which I replaced with a better one) for access. The TV is mounted on a cabinet just to the right of the stove. Not straight across from the couch, but waaaay better than trying to view a TV above the cab. That might give you an alternative to the bunkhouse version. With the couch and the dinette being convertible to sleeping quarters, you should have sleeping for 7-8. Jayco makes a good Class C. They tend to rate in the upper strata of Class C products.
