Retiring soon

I finally made up my mind to retire at the end of 2015. I got rid of 2 vehicles and got a Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk 4 WD. I have a Coachman Freelander 31DS to pull it with. I'm not going full time, because I still love my bed. I lost my wife on June 2 and we had talked of this, so I'm not going crazy just going cruising. (I was already crazy). I hope to see all the people I read about on here having a blast crossing the country. I live in Oklahoma so I'm already half way to everywhere. I'll be seeing yall soon.

enjoy the retirement but get ready

Very sorry for your loss, can't even imagine. Get ready for the retirement, I don't know when I had time to work in the past. seems that there is always something to do. We have been on the road a bit over a year , 15 months. DW still working as consultant , stayed 12 months in indy traded coaches while there. we love it , DW still wants to get brick and mortar but I don't really. hope to see you on the road. good luck

Hey powerguy. Real sorry for your loss. Hope we meet along the road someday and are able to swap some stories.my retirement date is Jan 1 of 2015, and looking forward to some miles of scenery and so much more to experience. Not quite sure how the class c is going to satisfy, but hey it's a start. Peace and happy motoring.

So sorry for your loss. My DW has gone through several bouts with cancer and a heart attack. We are thankful for every morning. Hope you have some great adventures and hope we end up parked in the next space over some day!!

Powerguy, so sorry to hear of your wife's passing. I wish she could be with you. I'm retiring the end of 2014 & have spent the last year reading the blogs of full- and part-time RVers & have pages & pages of notes about places to see & camp as well as tips. Check out RVSue, wheelingit, me mydog & myRV, watsonswander...so many more! Hope our paths cross in the future--enjoy this LAST year of work!

Hello, power guy. I lived in Bethany as a child, and remember going camping somewhere in the Arbuckle Mountains, thinking how cool it was to have mountains in Oklahoma. Then we moved to Colorado. My wife was almost killed by a drunk driver 12 years ago, then after finally recovering from that mess I was diagnosed with an illness and given several years to live. That was over 10 years ago, and we are still both going strong. All I can say is we are so very sorry for your loss, and there is nothing wrong with going crazy! I go that way a lot lately. . .
