Roof Crack on new Navion

We purchased a new 2014 Navion three weeks ago, and I just discovered a crack on the edge/crown of the roof on above the awning.

The picture of the flat part of the roof shows what apparently is previous work done to that area, and I can even notice a difference in the white paint color.

The damage was there when we purchased it, and I don't know how I missed it, and I'm very annoyed that we were sold a new RV with undisclosed damage.

The main concern is since I have no idea as to how long it's been cracked, I have idea how much hidden water damage there is to roof and wall.

I'm hoping you guys can provide me with some good insight on this issue, and how I go about getting proper resolution.

Thank you,.....marc

First, is it "new" with a warranty? Or used sold as is?

Second, how do you "know" it was there when you bought it? Maybe it popped up after you drove off. Maybe they missed it; I've missed things even after checking over an RV very thoroughly.

Looks like a very serious fault to me. I'm on the way to Iowa soon with my Navion IQ for basic service checks. If you are able, I'd want to have that seen by Winnebago ASAP. At least send them photographs.

Here is Winnebago's contact information from their website:

That's a very troublesome defect. To put it bluntly. Very possible water damage and being an old boat yard owner there is definitely signs of an attempted repair by either dealer or Winnebago. Rush to your dealer, document all, send certified everything to the manufacturer, be calm and relentless. The good news, it's warranted and from previous post several Winnie owners are having sidewall cracks. It's repairable if the right shop is involved. Good luck sorry.
