RV Driver Training
Not sure if this is the correct forum for this or not, so counting on the Mods to put me in the right spot if needed.
DW has wanted nothing to do with driving the 29' Winnie when we first got it but mentioned on the way back from our last trip that if I would teach her she would be willing to help with the driving.
I remember all to well how it went when she asked me to teach her to back a trailer so me teaching her is not good for marital bliss.
As for me, if it has wheels or wings I am pretty good at operating it which is probably why it is hard for me to teach her. Even with that I have watched about every video on youtube regarding driving tips as I always feel there is more to be learned.
Now for my question; I have heard of organizations that will teach you to drive a motor home either at your location or at a central location, and have even heard of some that travel around. If she really wants to learn then I think she should learn from a pro. In order to be there to help her and not give her bad information and also in an effort to continue learning myself I would plan to take what ever training as well. This way we would both be on the same page.
Any suggestions?

I don't know where you are located, but I have read several positive posts about the school at Lazy Days in Florida.

The Laz y Days u tube video is great - I watch it a couple of times before my first practice run in our new Motor Home and it was so helpful. Bet you wife would like it too. Happy Trails to you.

most of these classes are for class A ,class c lot easier just go to dead parking lot w/ some cones try diff things can also use stripes to simulate a car, passing on coming ect. biggest thing on a a C is to watch tail swing if it one of the bigger ones (28 or better). U can cut frt wheels real shape & tail will swing quite a bit esp at gas sta. ect

If nothing else, buy a dozen little traffic cones, go to an empty school parking lot, and lay out a little course to practice. After a few minutes my wife got used to how far out she needed to be and from there it was fairly simple.

It all doesn't matter because sooner or later everyone has one of those "OH SPIT" moments that you learn a lot from. Out of the blue low hanging branches are good for that

I won't be training her. I would catch neck for trying to keeep her under 80 pulling the pop up I need someone else giving her some parameters. Not me.
I have no issues driving the Winnie. Over the years I have driving fire trucks , busses and worked on semis so had to drive those from time to time as well. I would however take the course along side her so I would know what she was told.

the best answer has already been posted. Used them for the exact same reason, and DW did at least 1/3 of the driving on our last outing
