Sanitizing Fresh Water Lines

I have a 2005 Itasca Cambria 26' with full mattress in back supported by the wood support under which is the water pump with by-pass and the fresh water drain off/on valve. I want to start doing my own sanitizing of the lines but can't figure out how to keep from being squashed by the mattress when I lift it up to turn the line handles, not to mention holding a flashlight with one hand and turning valves with the other. I'd like to (attractively) retrofit an access door on one of the vertical supports for the mattress.

Has anyone done anything like that? If so, #1, did it work and, #2, does it look okay? Any suggestions are welcome.

You can put a 2x2 under the platform don't it have gas shocks on there now they might need changing

Yikes!!! It didn't occur to me that there may be hydraulic shocks attached to lift up the platform. Didn't even look. I remember seeing techs lifting up the mattress to get underneath the platform in order to winterize, but maybe they didn't know that either. MH is way across town. I'll check it out tomorrow. I thought about 12 x 16 two-by-fours to make a "T" to hold up the mattress but thought maybe there was an easier way I didn't know about.

If there are any support lifts, use a length of PVC to hold it up. When I added a memory foam topper, I added a hinged piece of schedule 40 PVC. It even had a retainer clip that kept it up flat under the bed when not in use.
