Selling a Motorhome

Iím a single female. In 2012 having no prior RV experience, I bought my new Itasca Navion iQ 24G. The last 7+ years have been the best experience seeing so much of the U.S. Now, however, medical issues have gotten to a point where I can no longer handle what it takes to have and frequently use my MH. Consequently Iím at the very beginning stages of considering selling.

Iíve never sold a vehicle to a private party - always traded in for something new. So I have a few questions.

- I have a toad and am wondering if people ever sell both the MH and toad together.

- Iíve seen RV Trader mentioned in posts, but Iím wondering if there are other similar possibilities. Any recommendations on how best to post the sale?

- Once I find a buyer, how is the monetary transaction usually handled so I donít get ďtaken.Ē Since it will be a fair amount of money, I want to make sure the transaction goes smoothly for the buyer and me.

Any answers to the above questions will be gratefully received. If anyone thinks of anything else I should know, please feel free to add it. Thanks.

I found the free booklet from PPL Houston chock full of good pointers and I have sold quite a few vehicles in my 88 years. It's always good to do the actual transaction at your bank or the seller's bank. When you leave, the buyer will have the necessary paperwork in hand so that it is his MH and you will have the money wire transferred into your bank acct.

Get that booklet here: https://www.pplmotorhomes.com/rv-consignment

They mailed mine the same day I requested it and I had it by USPS in a couple more days. No pressure to list with them ....... I never even heard back from them.

Good luck with the sale; I believe you have a highly sought-after rig.
