Storage compartment water leak

I have a Minnie Winnie 31K. When I drive in the rain, water gets into the storage compartments along the side. I can tell it is coming from the outside as there is dirt in the water. This has happened several times.
I purchased a new gasket at an RV dealer, but it was too thick and the door would not close.
Does anyone have this problem? What kind of gasket should I use to fix the problem?
Thanks, in advance, for any response

Storage compartment water leak

I've had similar leaks on my 2005 Winne Voyage 33V. I think I fixed one by adjusting the latch for more pressure on the seal. I'll suggest testing for friction between the door & seal with a strip of paper. However, one leak was due to bad seals on the floor panel of the compartment. The dealer found this by floating soapy water in the compartment and looking for bubbles running out below. Once that was sealed I've had no problems with that compartment.
